Soap operas do be like that, expertly weaving reminders-to-the-viewer about the identities of off-screen characters into the dialogue without impacting the natural flow of the conversation.

I haven’t seen a spine extend like that since that alien with the spines that extend out and then they poke you and you’re sad.

Cold: One time, someone in the comments referenced “mouse that smokes,” and I had to question whether or not that was one of mine. (I think so, but I’m not sure.)
