   This comic has the deepest lore you never expect. It’s like one of those car-eating potholes. I probably would have remembered that, but my from-the-beginning reread ended at 2016’s strips when I felt like “okay I’ve read these recently enough”

   When I read the previous strip, I had the faintest impression that I’d seen the title “kentucky and mount doom” before, but convinced myself I was wrong. Well, look at the situation now, past me!

   Yeah, but that’s one of those phrases that gets tossed around everywhere, so it’s easy to forget about.
