“There must have been a point in early human history when it was actually advantageous to, when confronted with a difficult task, drop it altogether and go do something more fun, because I do that way too often for it to be anything but instinct.”
Damn, that’s a good quote. It seems like half of us humans have the ability to do things when we know that we should do them, can do them, and want to do them, but half of us just inexplicably don’t. Many is the time I wish I understood why I didn’t belong to the former group.
I am also attempting to regularly do core-strength improving workouts. I’d say something like “get out of my head”, but I know that we’re both acting out fairly common goals and problems. (Or maybe you’re just talking about these fairly common goals/problems, and aren’t actually writing the first five panels autobiographically.)
Thanks! I think the whole instinct line is very apt, myself. Almost too apt to be in Mountain Time.
Actually (and quite unusually), those panels are fairly autobiographical. The only real difference is that I’m focusing on upper body and cardio, the idea being that this will take care of the core indirectly. But the point, as I think you understand, is that it’s damn difficult to get oneself to do it. And Burrito Squid. That’s difficult too.
Clipboard Jesus is my hero.. he can make burrito squids surf, and that’s a valid skill. Surfing is already kind of related to ‘walking on water’.. also Simone has a nice hairstyle.

Good call on the “walking on water” bit. I’ve heard that Clipboard Jesus can also do some miraculous things regarding the holding of a check sheet
