Here’s what the letter looks like, in case you want to back the cause:
Dear sirs,
Accuracy in language is a virtue. It has recently occurred to me that the term menopause denotes what would better be described as menostop. Furthermore, the onset of ovulation could well be called menostart or, if you prefer to maintain the theme of female anatomy as VCR functions, menoplay. I posit that in the latter case, pregnancy might broaden its appeal under its revised name, menorecord.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
UPDATE:
UPDATE 2 (UPPERDATE?):
Ready for a surprise? Thursday’s comic is behind schedule! On a related note, sorry if you happen to catch Mountain Time doing some really crazy website stuff in the near future. I’m working on moving it in the good direction in the stupidity
Ah this has got to be one of the best mountain times yet! Did that joke kill or what!
I suppose infertility could be described as meno-just-keeps-flashing-12:00-no-matter-what-I-push-on-the-remote, right?
Meno-remote’s-batteries-are-dead.
technically the term ‘menarche’ is just greek for menostart.. clearly they had the right idea at first.. then they started mixing english and greek and it came out all wrong.
minnow paws made me laugh so hard..
now the brilliant thing is the VCR metaphor.. if you leave a tape on pause too long, it just stops!
Wow, this VCR thing could really take off! Here’s to making “menopause” the Betamax of ovulation terms.
I just mailed your letter to the Broncos, Isto. Change is coming!
I REALLY hope that’s true.
I have sent the Denver Broncos an Email, just in case the letter never arrives.
Quiet. I’m trying to be dead. Don’t make me make you be dead too. XD
Funny even for Mountain Time. Keep it up in the past! And the future, but I haven’t even got to the present yet!
