Hello there, brats and Britons! It looks like it’s Greenland Week here at Mountain Time. I hope historians will confirm that Mountain Time is the first entertainment media outlet to devote an entire week’s worth of publishing to Greenland (contiguously, anyway).
This is a four-part story, so it’ll be updating Wednesday in addition to the normal Monday-Tuesday-Thursday schedule — that’s four straight days of arctic adventures! Why am I putting out 33.333% more material than usual? Because Greenland Week is a teeny-tiny black hole made of collapsed awesome!
Now I’m trying to come up with pleasant-sounding English words… Schism? Synecdoche?
Fun (nine-to-thirteen-years-after-the) fact: all four “English” words proposed in and below this comic — archipelago, phlegm, schism and synechdoche — are derived from Ancient Greek. As is the word euphony itself. (The CH/PH digraphs, transliterations of Χ/Φ, give them away.) Greenland Week really is one of those holidays where you can drop the “nland W” and still have it make sense.
That’s my favorite kind of holiday!
