Honestly I’m not sure which of those names is better. Also that language doesn’t look familiar… which is weird. I thought I knew all the languages by sight. It’s Portuguese? Okay that was my first guess, but it didn’t look like Portuguese. Damn stealth languages with their shiny polished black surfaces. I bet it’s Portugal Portuguese, I’m more familiar with Brazilian.. Either way I’m able to figure out the pun so that’s yay! Top quality Portupun.
… what is ol’ VP? Some kind of shoehorn with a cupholder? is it a lady? Vanilla sounds like a lady name to me.
I hadn’t thought too far into the nature of Vanilla Pickle, but she’s definitely a lady now. My first guess as to her species would be, um, stick of gum?
oh yeah, a gum stick, I could see that. With like, the little tire tracks on her back from the wrapper, but only if you look up close
ER, I mean, the fact that the word tubaroes sounds a lot like baloes.. was that not.. intentional?

Is there a pun? I know little of Portuguese.

I agree with the hover text. Vanilla is definitely a Moopy.
It’s almost criminal that she goes by Vanilla.
