God I love a good misunderstood-correction gag. So thaaat’s where baby faces come from.. and why gangsters are named after them.
The face baby looks suspiciously similar to that one time someone drew a face on a potato and then it became Satan or something?
Also, the NLPD’s miming skills are surprisingly good. Look at that dotted wine glass. Skill.
(So have we replaced wine pairings with appetizers now? Is that the only difference between Volumes One and Two? Or rather I and II, because Roman numerals just look cooler?)
Cold: The misunderstanding gag came up as a surprise while I was writing. Between that and the realization that I needed an establishing shot, I had a lot less play-around room at the end than I planned on.
But yep, that’s how baby faces are born. They’re definitely not always as cute as the song implies.

I immediately thought of that while I was drawing it. I meant to make the baby face grosser and goopier, like a gremlin emerging from metamorphosis, but it was kind of a last-minute thing.
Appetizers are the *first* difference, and just to make a clear-cut change, really.
